Cummer Museum and Gardens

The Cummer Museum of Art in Jacksonville Florida has a world-class collection and a wide variety of special exhibits. Ninah May Holden Cummer founded it for the benefit of the people of the region.

5,000 works of art include creations of Norman Rockwell, Thomas Moran, Winslow Homer, and Peter Paul Rubens. A highlight of the art collection is the Wark collection of early Meissen porcelain, one of the three most comprehensive in the world. Meissen was the first European company to figure out the secrets of porcelain manufacture.

The small 2.5 acre Cummer gardens include stands of majestic live oaks on St Johns River. Sections of the gardens include the English garden, Italian garden, Olmsted garden, and sculpture garden.

Cummer Museum is located at 829 Riverside Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida, 32204.
